There are many arguments around the topic of GMOs. Those against them say eating foods made from GMOs is bad for you. Those in favor argue that you're far better off from the benefits that GMOs and other science-based innovations bring to the farm, the store, and the table.

In a recent, massive conglomeration of studies on GMO foods published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, authors concluded that when comparing GMO foods to conventionally grown foods, there is no difference in rates of cancer, diabetes, obesity, kidney disease, autism or allergies. With the numerous research initiatives that set out to investigate the health impacts of GMOs, to date there has been no evidence to support the idea that GMO consumption causes any issues for humans.
Additionally, both the World Health Organization (WHO) and The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) state that GMOs are safe to eat.
With this in mind, at Healthy For Life Meals we continue to focus on using clean, whole, real ingredients in our meal plan, some of which may be genetically modified. Labeling laws in the U.S. do not require the labeling of GMO foods. Therefore, the only way to be fairly certain that an item is GMO free is to purchase only Certified Organic products, as the USDA prohibits GMOs organic foods.
